OYO 18964 Hotel Temple View

The rooms are comparatively better, but even the classic room costs more than it feels worth and is so cramped you can barely turn around. The bad experience starts at the gate, and there's not even basic drinking water in the rooms. Make my trip and OYO should delist this hotel.

The location is the one positive, but there's no parking, so you may have to leave your car outside congested Amritsar. The bathrooms were dirty, the old furniture and rooms were dusty, the blanket smelled, and the lighting was poor in the small, stinky rooms. No toiletries were supplied, and the TV didn't work. We had to wake the staff for hot water, then waited around two hours, and it was still nearly cold. No cab or auto drops you there. The OYO photos are staged. It wasn't pleasant or worth the money, and I'd look elsewhere if you can.

I booked just one night, but the room was freezing, right down to the mattress and blankets. Outside it was 4-7°C, and the hotel had no heaters. I'd have paid for a portable one if they had one, but they didn't. I spent the day in random cafes and restaurants just to get warm. I've never been so disappointed. There was also yelling and banging around the hotel early in the morning. I regret paying extra for early check-in.

My one-night stay near Golden Temple was a horror. The room, furniture, bathroom, and walls were dirty, and the place clearly wasn't maintained well. I hesitated to sit on the bed. There was hair all over the blankets and the sheets weren't clean, so I asked for a clean one. Breakfast was included in my booking, but when I ordered two cups of tea as breakfast, the hotel boy asked me for 50/-. I didn't pay. I totally don't recommend this hotel.
