The Park View Amritsar

The family room worked well for us: it was spacious and clean, and the two large beds were enough for four people. The bathroom was clean too. Staff were polite and very willing to help with requests, which made this a good budget stay for our short trip. We booked at the last minute, and I’d stay here again on a future visit. Thanks to #makemytrip for recommending it. A split AC instead of the window unit and a larger TV would be small improvements, though they didn’t take away from an otherwise great stay.

We had a simple, clean family room for four at a very economical price. Though it’s in the city, the spot was quiet and away from traffic. Having a kitchen for room service was convenient, and the hospital, pharmacy, and autorickshaw stands were only about 10 meters away.

We paid Rs 1030 online for the smallest room and stayed about 10 hours during a layover, hoping to sleep before visiting the Golden Temple. The reception staff were nice, but the room was uncomfortable and much smaller and poorer quality than the photos suggested. The pillowcases and blanket were stained; they changed them when we asked, but the bedsheet still had lots of someone else’s hair. It felt unhygienic. We got just one towel and nothing else. If you have time, stay somewhere else.

It’s an easy walk to the Golden temple, and the clean rooms and helpful staff were good. The food was just okay, not great, and the deluxe room’s TV was so tiny you couldn’t really watch it from bed. During our stay, maintenance work caused a strange smell to come through the AC vents as soon as we switched it on, and it made our eyes burn. Staff should have warned us. Even so, I’d still recommend the place.
