Collection O 76586 Hotel Greenwood

We booked and paid online through Oyo for four nights, but when we arrived, the hotel manager wouldn’t recognize the booking. Oyo’s call center also seemed to be misleading people. They had booked us from the morning of the day we called at 11 pm, then said our booking had been cancelled because we hadn’t checked in on that date. They did agree to refund us, but still deducted 700-800 rupees for their own mistake. The manager said rooms were available directly, just not through Oyo. We accepted because we were in an unfamiliar city and otherwise would have had to look for another hotel. They entered us in the hotel register but didn’t give us a bill. The room was basic. They gave us two 500 ml water bottles at check-in when we asked, and we bought our own for the other days. Towels were provided and there was basic cleanliness, but the room wasn’t cleaned regularly.

Oyo’s call center booked me a hotel at a lower price, then the manager charged much more when I got there. This happened to me twice in one week. I won’t book a hotel through OYO again.

31/08/2021 I’ve stayed here twice, in Feb 2021 and Aug 2021, five months apart, and both times were awful. The owner told me not to book through Oyo and said I’d have to pay extra if I used the app. Then, if you ask for a bill, he refuses or you end up paying more. In the Rs700-1000 range, I’d at least expect clean sheets, but these were stained and smelled really bad. The place was a mess, and lizards were running over our things, so check everything if you stay here. There was no room service, construction was still going on, and we found broken furniture and valves. The bathroom had no shampoo, conditioner, handwash, or sanitizer, and nothing worked properly, not even the hot water. Staff behavior was poor too. The receptionist charged Rs500 for being just 10 minutes late for checkout, and early check-in pushed the price up to Rs800. There are much better places nearby. The hotel WiFi didn’t work, so as teenagers we had to turn on mobile data to post this review. Worst experience I’ve had.

I was here for four days and had a fabulous stay. The rooms were neat and clean, and the staff were very supportive and helpful. It’s a good hotel for business travelers. Thanks to the hotelier for a good stay.
