Kay's By The Sea

The door locks didn’t feel secure, and nobody checked in or offered help. There was no TV or room service, barely any basic facilities, and the room came with just a shampoo, two soaps, and a towel. They provided one bottle of water and charged extra when I asked for more. At ₹3200 for a non-AC room, the stay wasn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t recommend Kay’s By The Sea. Thanks for responding. My issue wasn’t just the AC or an upgrade. Room upkeep, room service, access to drinking water, and secure door locks all fell short during my stay. Those are basic expectations in any hotel, regardless of whether the booking is AC or Non-AC. This is what I experienced, and I hope it’s taken seriously to improve service for future guests.

The remote location is a real drawback. It’s far from Vengurla, so don’t expect much in the way of peace of mind on your vacation. The cottage is tiny and lacks basic amenities, and they charge a high amount for it without providing service. There’s no TV or intercom, no one responds when you raise a concern, and they don’t even provide blankets or towels. The rooms and property aren’t worth the money. The staff seemed uninterested in feedback and ready to argue about anything. Fancy names won’t bring in business when the service isn’t there. A big no for Kays by the Sea.

The room’s sea view is surreal, and the food is the highlight. They make excellent, authentic Konkani food. Don’t be put off by the shack. Anand, the cook, is very cooperative and makes great Konkani vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes.

We stumbled on this hidden gem in shiroda by accident, and it was such a pleasant surprise. The rooms are very well maintained and spotlessly clean, and you get beach access along with the pool. There’s plenty of parking and a good choice of rooms. I wouldn’t recommend the food, but there are lots of nearby options. Do visit if you’re staying in shiroda.
