Mountain Rover Auli

The only good thing about Mountain Rover was the ground staff. They couldn’t make up for what we paid, though. We spent roughly 40k for a Christmas stay, expecting to be looked after, but had to chase the hotel for everything. The rooms were shabby, the heater was broken, the blankets had food gravy on them, and the tea table was burnt. There were gaps in the roof, with wind blowing in at night and even sunlight showing through during the day. Tables wobbled, and the bedside light kept flickering and couldn’t be used. The owner kept saying he was trying to figure something out, but after waiting for hours, it felt like empty promises and no real effort to find a solution. A horrible stay that ruined our Christmas and family time.

The bathrooms were very clean and hygienic, and the food was another highlight. The hotel restaurant serves amazing, authentic local dishes, so I’d say give them a try. Some huge insects may be around, but that shouldn’t be much of an issue. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and checked in. Their service is the best I’ve come across in the region. Simply excellent 👏 👍

The rooms were shabby and unhygienic, with mould on the dental kit. There were gaps in the roof and wind came in at night. The room heater was handicapped and wouldn’t oscillate, and dogs barking outside the door woke us at 2 AM. We booked this for Christmas and are having a horrible stay, paying upwards of 18k INR per night. I was so frustrated that I emailed management at 2 AM, and I know they’ll reply to this review. How can they charge ₹18k + a night and provide this kind of service? Worst stay for the money. This place is a scam, and the Google reviews are either old or fake. PLEASE AVOID AT ANY COST.

The peaceful scenery was a dream to wake up to, and the wooden rooms were cozy with stunning views of the snow-covered landscape. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure everything was right during our stay at this mountain resort. I had an amazing time and would highly recommend it for a tranquil, picturesque getaway. The food taste and maintenance of the electrical appliances could be improved.
