Aurangabad Gymkhana Club Hotel

Payal, who helped in the dining hall, was especially kind. She served everyone with a smile and was genuinely helpful, which brought a nice touch to our stay. The rooms were roomy and nicely designed, and staff moved us promptly when we reported a problem. But the new room had cockroaches too, just like the first one, where we saw around 5-6 as soon as we came in. Cleanliness really needs attention. The Wi-Fi was also very unreliable, working about half the time and running too slowly to use. When we raised it, staff said even their own dongle wasn’t working, which didn’t feel like a suitable response to guests.

Even on a busy weekend with weddings and other functions going on, the staff were prompt and greeted us with smiles. The hotel is in central Aurangabad, just minutes from the airport, and has plenty of parking. I also appreciated the effort to be environmentally conscious, with safe drinking water served in glass bottles.

The restaurant team at dinner were wonderful, friendly, and went out of their way to help. Some spoke English, which made things much easier for me as a foreign traveler. The rooms and facilities were very nice too. Best shower I’ve had during my 1.5 months of budget travel in India.

The room itself was comfortable, with plenty of space, a pleasant atmosphere, quick room service, and a large toilet. The spa was a different story. Despite booking a time ahead, I was told to return in an hour, then asked to wait another hour when I got there. The therapist was terrible as well. At reception, they brushed off my complaint by saying a third party runs the spa and they weren’t responsible. That attitude felt very unprofessional and cheap. The hotel stay was okay, but management was poor. I’d strongly suggest avoiding the spa, or you may regret it.
