Hyatt Place Haridwar

The room views were lovely in both morning and evening, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We came for my cousin's wedding, and the location worked well for Har ki Pauri, about 10-12kms away and a 20-25 minute drive. Parking was no problem, and the food was tasty, with plenty of choice at the buffet breakfast we mostly had. The restaurant felt small for the number of rooms and guests, though. I also left my power bank in the room and contacted them twice, but never got a call back. I would have appreciated a return call.

The banquet hall is large and nice, the food quality was very good, and check-in was smooth. Rooms were clean and in very good condition. The hotel is quite far from the main places in Haridwar, but staying here was still a good experience. Liquor was served all the time. Just one small issue: the receptionist told me at night that checkout was at 12, even though my tour package said 09:30 am. He should have asked for my room number before giving me a checkout time, since that timing applied specifically to me through Amazon Company.

The rooms are beautiful and huge, and the lobby is spacious. The restaurant and ala carte menu need a lot of improvement, though, and the service falls short of Hyatt Place standards. I had a long stay but couldn't meet Mr Vaarun. The hotel is outside the city on the highway, so each trip there means crossing the toll or making a U-turn at it.

It took over 30 minutes to get my luggage to the room, and I had to remind them four times. After staff handed it to security check, it was left outside for more than 10 minutes. That felt really irresponsible. The housekeeping staff didn't seem properly trained either. I had to follow up twice to get water bottles refilled, something they should do during room cleaning. Overall, an average stay, definitely not Hyatt standards.
