Maple Inn Budget Hotel

Fine for a day or two if you need budget accommodation. The staff are pleasant and polite, and the general ambience is okay, though the rooms don’t feel roomy. There’s a strong, distinct pesticide smell in both the corridors and rooms, and the bathroom faucets and other fixtures need fixing.

The only real snag for me was the morning tea, which wasn’t available until 7:30, too late for a workday. Otherwise it’s a basic, no-frills place. My non-AC room had a big east-facing window, so it felt bright and airy. Both the room and the dry toilet were very clean. The food was tasty and cooked well, although the chicken portion was small. It’s in a market area among homes, with easy access from the Highway.

I arrived at 7 in the morning, but was told check-in wasn’t until noon and that I’d have to pay 450 extra to get a room then. The room had no AC, the bedsheets were dirty, and there was no water. The toilet flush didn’t work, and by the next morning the TV had shut off because of a recharging problem. There wasn’t even drinking water. I had luggage with me and no choice, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The rooms weren’t as good this year, after I gave the place four stars last year. I’m giving three this time because one staff member really impressed me. He was in a security uniform but helped us with everything, served our food nicely, and even brought hot water from another room when ours had none. He also helped us switch rooms when we asked. The room service boy, though, wasn’t good.
