OYO 11640 Hotel Aaira Inn

The room itself was filthy, and the table and chairs had dirt all over them. The toilet was awful: the seat was broken, there was no door handle, the sprayer didn’t work, the mug was broken, and there was no handwash. It looked like nobody had cleaned it in ages. The old, springy mattress kept me from sleeping and has left my back aching. The topper and pillow covers stank too. I booked at the last minute because my plans changed, and I’m really gutted I did. I could have slept in my car. Don’t be fooled by the Google photos, they look like they were taken ages ago when the restaurant first opened. Please don’t book this place.

The rooms are on the first floor, but although there’s an elevator in the building, security said I couldn’t use it to get there. How are customers supposed to carry trolley luggage up?

The room was decent, but they charged us far more than the OYO price. When we arrived, they refused to honor the booking, saying they no longer accepted OYO reservations, and told us to book at the desk instead. That rate was 200 per cent higher than what OYO Rooms showed. Be careful before you go.

For 1500 for a two-bed room, this wasn’t worth it. The whole floor smelled strongly of cigarettes, so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who dislikes smoke, including children and women. There was no complimentary water, breakfast, or room service. The towels were dirty, white ones turned light brown, possibly from being washed in dirty water. The washroom wasn’t kept clean, with dirt on the walls and bedsheets and fungal marks on the washroom walls. I also found a few cockroaches in the washroom. The TV didn’t work, and the service wasn’t good compared with other hotels.
