Samrudhi Suites

The campus is good, the rooms are spacious, and it’s clean. Staff are very polite and the food is good too. The problems are with maintenance: cupboards, doors, and windows are often broken, and AC doesn’t work in many rooms. Only the A block lift works, while two of the three lifts are out of order. Wi-Fi is poor.

There’s greenery outside, and I appreciated the staff, but the room price felt far too high for what you get. The TV is basic, the AC controls are a little difficult, and the sofa is very old. Breakfast here isn’t worth eating, and dinner costs enough to feel like a needless drain on your wallet. This place seems suitable only for a stay of a few days.

The food quality was the weak point, but most other things are covered. It’s a nice place to stay, easy to find on maps, and comes with almost all amenities. I’d recommend it for a week or two.

I booked five nights at “Samrudhi Suites” through Hotels.com and received an email confirming the reservation. But when I arrived, the security guard stopped me to ask why I was there and which block I was going to. After I showed him the booking, he said the hotel had been closed for two years, there was no reception anymore, and the property had become residential. He said he’d turned away many other people who had booked it. The phone number in my confirmation email didn’t exist. Hotels.com customer care told me they had no knowledge of the closure, and said properties register on the site without telling them when a hotel closes. I was devastated and felt completely helpless. With no other option at the last minute, I booked another hotel and checked in there.
