The food wasn’t to my taste, and it may be adjusted more for a foreign palate given the guest mix, which is understandable. The rooms were great, and the staff were very good and polite. Terminal 1 is an easy walk away. Taxi apps can’t pick up here, so you need to walk about five minutes to the Uber pickup point for Terminal 1. It’s not difficult, but it would be helpful to be told at check-in.

The hotel looks really nice outside and in the public areas, but the rooms felt very dated and poorly serviced. I ended up finding a nicer hotel in central Bangalore and didn’t feel comfortable staying another night after the bug problem. I had to change rooms twice. Right after checking in, I found gross blood stains on a pillow and hair on the bedding. Two nights later, on both mornings in the second room, I stumbled over what looked like tick bugs in the bathroom. Later that day I spotted another tick on the couch, so I packed my things and asked to move again. The staff apologized each time and arranged a new room quickly, which is why I’m giving two stars for service. But when another colleague and I asked about an airport transfer, we never got a response. A third colleague only got a reply from reception after asking shortly before the trip. At dinner in Cafe 77, two of the three beer glasses were very dirty. We noticed before the staff started pouring our drinks. My dish arrived 30 minutes after the others, and it wasn’t clear whether my order had been forgotten.

Dinesh from concierge arranged my airport transport and was very supportive. Neha also made checkout pleasant with a warm send-off, and the dining staff gave great service. On our first stay at TAJ, Avantika welcomed us so warmly and helped throughout. She surprised us with a Club room upgrade, decorated the room for my wife's birthday, and arranged a cake. It was a heartfelt, memorable visit. We’ll definitely stay at TAJ again.

That framed photo of us for the hotel’s 10th anniversary was such a sweet surprise. We also got a room upgrade, and Neha made everything easy for us with her helpful service. The hotel was very welcoming to our toddler and let us check out late. I accidentally broke a toiletries bottle and offered to have it added to the bill, but they kindly didn’t charge us. Those thoughtful touches made our stay at Taj Bangalore really special.
