Hotel Virgo Sumeru

We chose this hotel because it was listed as 4 star, while the other 5 star hotels in the city were sold out on our dates. It’s near the main shopping and city area, but finding reception on arrival was awkward. There was no sign showing where it was, and it turned out to be above the restaurant on the actual hotel second floor. Check-in felt like a toll/border check point, with no welcoming gesture from staff, just a request for documents. The rooms were very small with right spaces. The bathroom towels were torn with threads hanging off, as shown in the pictures, and there were dead mosquito patches on the walls and spider webs in the ceiling corners. It felt like a 2 star motel experience and a complete rip off. We paid extra for breakfast and dinner when booking, but were charged for dinner because of miscommunication among the staff. Food was OK, with limited options and not very good hygiene practice, especially if you are a global traveller. I wouldn’t recommend it. Iscon Fern or Sarovar in the city would be better for a similar price and better experience and amenities.

The breakfast buffet wasn’t lavish, but it was tasty. The live dosa and uttapam counters were a nice part of it, and for the price the hotel felt worth the money for its quality and hospitality. Staff were the real highlight, friendly, cooperative, and usually quick to respond to requests. I stayed one night and found it comfortable, with clean, well-maintained rooms and neat washrooms. Hot water was excellent. There were a few mosquitoes, though, so keep that in mind. For a short stay, Virgo Sumeru is a decent and reliable choice.

Mayur, Nawaz, Pappu, and the whole hotel team were always ready to help. Their warm manner and outstanding service made the stay smooth and pleasant. Everything was organized well from check-in through check-out, and the rooms were neat and comfortable. Excellent experience at hotel virgo, truly a great place to stay and highly recommended. The rooms were congested, and the air conditioning had no remote control. Seating in the dining area was so cramped there was no room to move around and enjoy the buffet. Staff couldn’t manage a tour group of 70 people, most of them senior citizens. The bathroom equipment was too old and poorly maintained. We had notified the caterer the previous night, but there still wasn’t any arrangement for Jain food.
