Food was one of the better parts of the stay. The hotel has an in-house kitchen with a range of reasonably priced choices, and the food tasted good, though not amazing. The chef was very accommodating about custom requests. I stayed with my family for one night as a stop on a long trip. The hotel is in a busy market, and there is no parking. Road and market noise came straight into the roadside rooms, and even the bathrooms had no exhaust, just windows opening onto the hallway. Someone watched TV until 2am, and the sound and light came through those bathroom windows. There’s very little privacy. The rooms were small and clean, but not well maintained. Smoke smell was noticeable everywhere, and the shower and hot-cold switch were nearly broken. This felt like a classic railway station hotel, where even the meaning of “Deluxe room” seemed completely changed. My scores: value for money 2/5, location 1/5, rooms 2/5, staff 3/5. The staff were polite and helpful, contrary to the reviews I’d read before booking, though the daytime receptionist was a little stern.
