SPOT ON 38154 Shakti Hostel & Hotel

The hygiene and upkeep were awful: stained sheets, dirty hallways, and a bad smell throughout the hotel. The washroom was filthy, smelled terrible, and had a completely blocked sink. They didn't provide towels or toiletries either. When I asked for a towel, the staff just stared at me and said, "We don't have any left." From check-in, the staff were rude and unprofessional, acting as if answering basic questions or making eye contact was a favor. The room was disgusting. This doesn't deserve even one star. I regret booking here and will make sure my friends and family don't make the same mistake.

Polite, helpful staff and a hygienic room at a budget-friendly price. It's a good place to stay.

I wish there were an authority or hotel association I could report this place to. We booked rooms and got confirmation four days earlier, but on arrival the rates had gone up. The person at reception said to contact the booking app because he couldn't do anything. It turned out he was the owner's cousin, filling in while his brother was away getting a haircut. When I called the brother, he said nothing could be done and that this was how it worked. Some students nearby told us it was a hostel converted into a hotel, with students still living there. I was also told the owner is well known in town and has many hotels in Gujarat. Don't rely on the ratings, they don't show the real picture.

Whether you call it a hostel or hotel, it's okay if all you need is a budget place to sleep and freshen up. The room was acceptable, but the washrooms weren't very clean, and they didn't provide hot drinking water on cold days. Don't expect much. Our OYO booking hadn't been accepted, but we only found out when we arrived, which left us in trouble. With no other option, we had to book a room there at a higher price.
