Cavalry Villa Bikaner

The courtyard in the middle of the property adds a lovely feel, and the rooms were sparkling clean with thoughtful design. I spent one night at Cavalry Villa, which is the home of an ex-army colonel and has a special charm. It’s a calm retreat amid the crowds and bustle outside, with attentive, good service. The market is walkable and the train station is right next door, though train horns can be noisy at times. I really enjoyed the stay, and the property is well worth it.

We had a really pleasant stay at Cavalry Villa. The owners have made it such a lovely place, with the cleanest rooms I’ve seen in my three visits to India. The staff were kind, and the owners deserve a special mention for being so helpful with everything. The location beside the train station is great, just don’t be surprised by the loud horns at night.

We booked four nights and hated having to leave. Colonel And Mrs Singh were gracious hosts, and their staff were kind and professional. The breakfasts and dinner were beautifully made and tasty. Everything about the Villa feels high quality: the rooms are spacious, comfortable, well decorated, and spotless. There are more seating areas than you might expect, making it an oasis close to the old city. A must-stay.

We were three couples staying from 5 to 8 January, and all three rooms were clean and comfortable throughout. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, bright during the day, and have good storage for a multi-night visit. The beds were comfortable, and the ensuite bathrooms were roomy, well equipped, and consistently well kept. We also enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals with balanced flavours, served in a relaxed, personal way. Cleanliness was excellent in the rooms, bathrooms, and shared areas. The owners, Col Mahendra Singh and his wife Bhawna, were involved, attentive, and easy to talk to, while the staff treated every couple with equal warmth and prompt care. The villa is close to the railway station, which made arriving and getting around easy. Cavalry Villa is a comfortable, calm choice for couples and small groups. We felt well looked after.
