The only odd part was meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the nearby Sagar Niwas Palace, so you have to go through another hotel or walk about 200 metres along the street. It’s strange when you’d expect the restaurant to be in the hotel. Otherwise, the service and hospitality were good. The hotel has a haveli theme, very good rooms, ample parking, and outdoor dining space. It’s near the bus depot on a lane with several lovely hotels, most of which apparently belong to this hotel’s owner. At night, once they’re lit up, the street looks astonishing.

Hotel Sagar is part of a group of properties next to each other under the same owner. The location was good, check-in went smoothly, and our room was clean. We had a good breakfast in Hotel Sagar, next to sagar niwas. We had a good stay and recommend the property.

Breakfast had a wide range of fresh options for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian tastes, and the restaurant staff kept the tables clean and food replenished. The hotel’s location was handy for attractions, shops, and transport, while still being peaceful. Check-in was quick, and the reception staff were welcoming and ready to help. My room was spotless, nicely furnished, and had the modern amenities I needed. The bed was cozy, AC worked well, and the clean bathroom had quality toiletries. Fresh linens, complimentary water bottles, and a tidy workspace were nice details. Free Wi-Fi, prompt room service, secure parking, and attentive housekeeping made things convenient. My stay exceeded expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and service, and felt like good value. I’d recommend it for business or leisure and would stay again.

The rooms are small, and I didn’t find the place very attractive. Breakfast is at another property, since they group their several nearby properties together at one location. The breakfast menu was limited, and dining service wasn’t up to the mark.

The red sandstone building is beautiful, with amazing views. But the restaurant and service quality were poor for a hotel this premium. The food wasn’t tasty: the rotis had to be redone, dishes arrived cold, and starters took almost 45 minutes. Nothing was delicious or served properly. There are plenty of good options nearby, so I’d avoid it.
