Mariya International Hotel

I’d be happy to stay here again. The hotel offers a lot for the price, with reasonable rates, a prime location, and furnishings suited to a luxurious stay. The service was impeccable, and the staff exceptionally courteous. The restaurant deserves special praise too. The proprietor also runs Rasta Café, which I’d recommend visiting at least once. The Front Office Manager was especially professional and gracious.

The hotel is about 1 km from the market and crowded area, which made for a peaceful family break. We stayed for two days and had a great time. Our room and washroom were clean, with a kettle, tea kit, wardrobe, spacious beds, toilet kit, and towels. Breakfast was complimentary, with a choice of à la carte or buffet and a decent range of options. Whenever we needed help, the polite staff responded right away. Mr. Golden, who is in charge of the restaurant, and Mr. Sohail at reception were especially helpful. I’d consider Mariya International for a future stay.

The building is old and needs significant maintenance, but I still had a good experience. The food was good and the value for money was great. Service was attentive, and the receptionist and other staff were very helpful.

Getting around is the main drawback. The hotel feels isolated and offbeat, and a battery auto to the market or another place costs at least 100 rs. Autos are very infrequent, so even going out for a bottle of water means paying 100 rs each way or eating at the hotel restaurant. The room was a decent size, the bed was super comfortable, and cleanliness was fine, though I felt it needed a deeper clean. They also provided a welcome drink.
