The location opposite to the Japanese temple wasn't an issue, but almost everything else was. The building has no lift, and with the intercom out of order, every time I needed anything I had to walk down from the second or third floor to the ground floor. They also don't have card payment, which really sucks in a tourist location. My room wasn't properly maintained. The balcony was filthy, with standing rainwater and tree leaves covering most of it. The bed wasn't cleaned properly, and I found hair from the previous guest. The drawer had been left dirty too, with a half-eaten snack packet inside. The bathroom was a mess: the bathtub was dirty, the tap near the toilet didn't work, and there was no exhaust fan. The AC control panel was out of order, so the temperature stayed constant and I couldn't adjust it. Water seepage has left moss and fungus on the walls.

The property is good, with clean rooms and an okay bed, which is what my two stars are for. Management was opportunistic: they denied my online booking, the kitchen closed by 9:45, and they negotiated with me about including breakfast.

The kitchen was filthy, with dogs and cats inside, and it looked very unhygienic. My experience at Hotel Tokyo was bitter. The owner, Mr Sajit Ali, seemed unprofessional and didn't know how to make guests feel comfortable. He seemed focused on taking money from guests. I can't recommend staying here.

The rooms look nice, but the basics aren't working well. There was no drinking water supplied, so we had to buy everything, and the bathrooms ran out of water. With international tourists coming here, the place still falls short of international standards.

The rooms smelled bad, there was no hot water or Wi-Fi, and the food was bad too. Front desk and restaurant staff were unfriendly and had no decency. I made a mistake booking here. Bodg Gaya has better hotels, so don't stay at this worthless place.
