Nelmar Nest Guest House

The location felt safe, was central, and put us near most of the beaches. The price was good, too, but the problems made this guest house unworkable for us. The host was laid-back and not accommodating, and didn’t send proper help even when we asked to have the bathroom cleaned. The bathrooms were very dirty, the faucet was nearly useless, there were no shower mixers, and the hot and cold water supply wasn’t working properly. Sheets hadn’t been changed in the rooms we stayed in, and several of us developed skin allergies despite telling the host, who did nothing. The sheets provided were 7ft curtains, which caused trouble for the older people in our group. The pillowcases were torn, with stuffing coming out, and several of us got headaches and neck aches. At night the lights by the entrance and rooms were switched off, so the older people couldn’t safely use the staircase.

We’ve now stayed here five times with our friends, 13 of us in total, men and women, and had a really good time. Hello arranged a new rental bike for us and a taxi drop-off at very reasonable rates. The owner is polite and helpful. Nelmar Nest is a good choice if you want peace of mind. Thanks again, Edwin, I’ll definitely send my friends here. Thank you, Edwin Sir.

Our stay at Nelmar guest house was unpleasant from beginning to end. The owner’s promised amenities were missing or not as advertised, and unexpected charges appeared at checkout. When we asked about them, he was dismissive and rude. At exactly 10:00 AM, he made us leave the room without any flexibility, which felt disrespectful and unwelcoming. He also pushed us to book a cab through his contacts, where the price was higher. When the Goa Miles driver arrived, the owner acted aggressively toward him, making the situation tense. I found the owner unprofessional and the practices deceptive, and would advise looking elsewhere in Goa for more respectful and honest treatment.

We arrived with family and kids after booking in advance, but the owner raised the daily rate by 500 when we got there. The room was old, repainted, and had very few facilities. It was smaller and less furnished than the photos suggested. The owner seemed focused only on money and treated customers poorly. The rooms and services are overpriced, and I won’t return.
