The merit resort

I found the rooms clean and lovely, and the stay was very comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

The stairs at the entrance were very dirty, and the washroom was so cramped it was hard to move around. We were also let in an hour late, at 1pm instead of the 12noon check-in time. The website photos gave a convincing impression, but the TV was wireless, the AC had no remote, and the Wi-Fi never worked. There wasn’t even proper space or furnishing for basic necessities. A fridge was there, though it seemed to be just for show. We booked only one day ahead because our plans changed suddenly, but I didn’t even feel like taking pictures of the whole experience.

The flat was near Calangute Beach and the main road, and the price was lower, but our two-day stay at Merit Resort still fell short of expectations. We were put in a first-floor 2 BHK with two double beds and extra mattresses. The room smelled unpleasant and the pillows were dirty. The washrooms weren’t up to standard, and the geyser didn’t work properly. The next day we spotted a rat in the room and asked to move. Staff gave us two separate rooms, which didn’t suit our group of six.

The rooms were clean and really nice, and there’s a small pool just outside them. The resort is affordable and close to the main road. There’s no dining facility, though a menu card was left in the room for a different hotel, so maybe food is ordered from somewhere else. Still, it’s a very good resort.
