The caretaker stays somewhere else and doesn’t answer calls. The building is poorly maintained, with dirty, smelly rooms, and the Google photos are old and don’t reflect how it looks now. The owner lives in Delhi and seems least bothered about the place.

Casa candolim is in a good location and the rooms are spacious, but the place is run down. The bathrooms badly need restoration, the hot water is an issue, and the health faucet doesn’t work properly. The kettle, fridge, and TV are old and dirty. There’s just one socket for charging devices, and it’s far from the bed. The owner must be somewhere else in India earning money without bothering to provide guests with good facilities.

We loved the hospitality, the location, and the people here. These self-catering units made a great base for exploring, with Bono's shack very close by and different walking routes to the main roads. Guests can also unwind at the pool, away from the public areas. Whenever we needed to go somewhere, the staff were ready to help with suggestions and directions. The showers were great too. Definitely worth a visit if you want independence and easy access to everything Candolim has to offer.

This is an old building that’s been turned into a guesthouse. The staff are courteous and friendly, though they sometimes need a nudge to get certain things done. Maintenance was disappointing, with leaking taps and broken items around the place. The pool for our block of four rooms wasn’t clean when we arrived. Those rooms had AC and hot water, and the beach, hotels, restaurants, and shops are just a few minutes’ walk away. There was also a screaming lady next door who shouted abuse at every guest, whether or not anyone was making “noise.”

Casa Candolim made for a peaceful, vintage colonial-style stay. It felt like a home away from home, with caring service, and the quaint, romantic property is just a stone's throw from the beach. I enjoyed relaxing on the lawn with a drink or a book, and had a thoroughly enjoyable trip. The staff were courteous. Thank you, Casa Candolim!
