Inside, the villa is very nicely done, but the stay left us disappointed, especially for a Saffron stay property. We had trouble finding it because it sits in a deep corner, reached by a narrow path with poor lighting. It faces paddy fields, but there's barely room to take a walk, and the pool is tiny, more like a plunge pool for two or three children. Food deliveries from Zomato or swiggy weren't recognized, so we had to collect parcels at the area's main gate. The caretaker, Pankaj, didn't seem interested in welcoming us. Saffron stays had said not to disturb him from 11pm to 5 am, but he set his own rule that there'd be no service after 9 am. He said he could provide breakfast only and there was no chef to cook other meals in the villa. When we went out for dinner, he or his wife called to ask when we'd be back because they needed to close the doors. In Goa, it felt like staying in a hostel with strict timings. Breakfast was supposed to be at 8.30 am, but wasn't fully served until nearly 9;30 am. When we raised these issues, Pankaj said the owner had appointed him, not Saffron stays, and he wasn't willing to follow what Saffron Stays had put on its website. The TV remotes didn't work, and nobody bothered to replace them. On checkout, a supervisor named Mr Naik appeared for feedback after not showing up during our four days there. He seemed uninterested and defended the caretaker by saying he gets tired. We were out all day apart from breakfast, so I wondered how tired he could be while relaxing for the rest of the day. There's a serious disconnect between Saffron Stays and the owners' staff, who didn't seem to care, and Saffron stay hasn't supervised the place properly. The saddest part is that it belongs to a Parsi Mr Chindy, whose staff haven't been taught proper hospitality. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The location gives you both easy access and quiet. The villa is just off the main road, then tucked down a lane that feels peaceful. We loved the food cooked there, which was better than some of the restaurants we tried, and Pankaj & Arpana looked after us with warmth, professionalism, and a personal touch. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully designed, with comfortable beds, thoughtful details, and all the amenities we needed. Furnishings made the rooms feel homely. The shared space had a large dining table and a sit-out area with sofas and armchairs so comfortable we didn't want to leave the villa. Air conditioning runs throughout, and a generator starts right away when needed. The clear pool looks out over neighboring paddy fields. It felt luxurious but still welcoming and home-like, with elegant finishes and plush comforts. The owners clearly care about the property and keep their standards high. This villa was the highlight of my Goa trip, and I cherished every moment.

Pankaj and Arpana couldn't have been more helpful or better with their service. It's a fabulous location and an excellent property. If you're after an exquisite Indo Portuguese inspired house in Goa, remember to book with them at Saffron stays.

The food was so good that I wasn't eager to eat out, even though that's part of the point of a Goa trip for many of us. Everything about the stay felt cared for, from the spotless rooms and thoughtful furnishings to the comfortable beds, well-placed AC units, clean, beautifully designed bathrooms, great water pressure, and just-right lighting. The fans were in all the right spots, too. The rooms felt spacious without being overwhelming. There was a generator for the comforts we needed, and I always felt looked after. Pankaj & Arpana were lovely caretakers, combining professional hospitality with a personal touch. The sofas and chairs in the common areas were among the most comfortable I've used, and the dining set and other furniture seemed made for the villa. It's close to everything you might want to do, yet set in a quiet lane surrounded by greenery. The design is beautiful, and it felt like a palace rather than a random homestay. The calm there felt other-worldly. This was the sole reason I loved my Goa trip, and I was genuinely sad to leave. The owners have impeccable taste and very high standards.
