Kalatop Hills Homestay

Simba, the friendly dog who guards this quiet retreat, deserves a mention. The rooms have the amenities you need and come in options for friends or couples. They’re well maintained, the people are patient and welcoming, and the service really adds to the stay. Up on Kala top hill, the view from the rooms at sunrise is spectacular and panoramic. One local legend says a chudail, or witch, possesses women who wear perfume here, so ladies, a word of caution: don’t wear perfume. Don’t let the story scare you away from the views.

The food and the hosts’ warm family-like care made this mountain-top stay feel special, and I felt very safe here as a solo woman traveler. Rooms are wooden, with a gyser, heater, and a great view. There are activities like zip lining and cycling, and the trek adds to the thrill. When in Dalhousie, go to kalatop outhouse.

The balcony view from the rooms was heavenly. It was a nice stay, with really helpful staff and service at an extremely high level.

The view was the best part, and the rooms and people were beautiful too. It’s worth staying here, and easily one of the best places around. Try to arrive early, since it’s quite far inside.
