OYO 6933 Satyam Home Stay

The staff were friendly, the rooms were nice, and the facilities were good. Food is available too. In Sunny Enclave, it's a pleasant place for families, couples, or students who want a homestay near Kharar or Mohali. It's one of the better moderately priced hotels around, and I could have a comfortable stay here.

Breakfast was a highlight: the aloo paratha was as good as I'd hoped for in Punjab. The owner was helpful and pleasant, and my stay was comfortable. The room and bathroom were in good condition, including the sheets and blankets, and both the geyser and AC worked. Basic amenities were provided.

The biggest problem was the booking. I'd paid about 3.5k online through MakeMyTrip, but after traveling nearly 1500 kms with my family of four and our heavy luggage, the owner said they didn't accept online payments and wouldn't honor it. We were denied entry. Luckily, my cancellation and refund window still had about two hours left, so I canceled and paid another 3.5k at the counter to book a room there. That's pathetic coordination between the hotel and Oyo or similar sites. Imagine arriving and finding no room available. I would not recommend this hotel at all. The bathroom layout was awkward too: the toilet was right in front of the door, and we had to squeeze past it to reach the shower. The food wasn't great. We ordered something the first day, then got meals from nearby restaurants on Zomato for the other two days.

I couldn't sleep at all. There were cockroaches, lizards, ants, termites, and seepage, and when we complained, the Himachali manager blamed us, saying we'd brought the problem and it hadn't been like that before we arrived. A horrible experience, definitely a no-go for me.
