Trium Heritage Villa

The 4.2-star rating didn’t match what I found at this Airbnb, and I can’t recommend it. Rooms were dusty, bathrooms weren’t clean, and used towels had been left hanging. There were no toiletries, most of the air conditioners weren’t working and the rooms were uncomfortably warm. The kitchen had no utensils either. A very disappointing stay.

The house has four bedrooms, a separate room for the caretaker, and a fully equipped kitchen, which suits a group that wants to cook for itself. The rooms are quite small, though, and the beds are Queen sized. It’s within walking distance of NSS auditorium and sits beside Pampa River, so it may appeal to people who like staying near a river. The water didn’t look clean, so I wouldn’t advise getting in.

The river view was really good, and the place had a fantastic ambiance. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the caretaker was very well behaved and provided good service. Great for a get together or bachelor party, you can go for it. Awesome ❤️

The one thing Trium Heritage Villa had going for it was being about 50 feet from Pamba river. When we first tried to go there, though, a group of rowdy guys were smoking and peeing nearby. We left after paying in full, but the stay left a bad taste, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We’d booked the villa for a group stay in Chengannur after it looked beautiful online and seemed premium, as the owner claimed. On arrival, we felt completely cheated. One hassled caretaker appeared to be managing the whole property. The living room was dark and dingy, and he couldn’t fix the light. After we sat in darkness for a while, one of us got it working. The rooms were gloomy and stank, nothing like the pictures, which may have been taken just after construction. The bathrooms were visibly dirty and smelly too. The caretaker promised to clean them himself when we asked, but didn’t. We wanted to leave straight away, but finding somewhere else at the last minute would have been very difficult, so we stayed. The kitchen was also extremely unkempt. There was no in-house cook, despite what we’d initially been told, so we ordered food from outside. It was just about okay. Many of us travel a lot and weren’t looking for luxury, but basic cleanliness matters. We choose homestays for a sense of local life, local food, and warm hospitality. Trium Heritage Villa may have heritage-style architecture, but it’s maintained very poorly. The owner was far from hospitable, extremely rude and uptight, and defensive about the whole situation.
