Hotel Illam

I stayed a few days ago. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with soft, cushy beds, and I liked the modern bathrooms with glass doors. Prices are high, but you can negotiate. The one big problem was cockroaches. I saw three around the toilet and under the basin. Everything else was good, but those cockroaches spoiled it for me.🥹

The location is prime, and the rooms are good. They need to improve the breakfast.

I stayed here from August 17-20 while taking my father-in-law to Apollo Cancer Centre for treatment. The hotel is very convenient for hospital visits, just around 200 meters away. My room was nice, the bathroom was clean, and there’s a very large lift that can even fit a car. Double Roti is attached, though it mainly serves fast food and isn’t suitable for lunch or dinner. There are other restaurants nearby. The reason I didn’t give five stars is the unprofessional handling of our room request. I visited a day before check-in to book, and the manager showed me a double-bed room and one with two single beds. I clearly asked for the double bed, but when we arrived the next day, they hadn’t kept that room for us. The hotel was okay overall and suitable for treatment visits to Apollo Cancer Centre.

The only good thing about this place is that it’s near Apollo hospital. I stayed December 4-7, 2023, and it was the worst stay. The staff didn’t address room complaints. Hot water heaters in half the rooms were broken, with no alternative provided. There were no bathroom buckets, and after a 20-minute discussion they gave me one the staff used in their room, which looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for two years. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and during my four days I asked more than ten times without getting a response. They also didn’t respond when I asked for a floor mat, then said rooms don’t have them. I had to go downstairs myself for a water bottle after waiting 30 minutes. The lift had been out of order for a long time, and it seemed they had no way of repairing broken items. There wasn’t even a soap case in the bathroom. It felt like the owner had invested money and then left the hotel without proper maintenance.
