The complimentary breakfast was good, with three or four choices, and the service was decent. The place is close to all kinds of facilities and feels like good value for money. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom very clean. A few things could be better. The bathroom water had a slight muddy color, though I don't know why. The windows were locked, so there was hardly any daylight, and a few pillows smelled odd.

The one real advantage is the location near the US Consulate. I still wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially if safety matters more to you than saving money. I booked a full day through the website and paid extra for an early check-in. They said the room would be sanitized in front of us, but didn't keep their word. Staff argued that this property wasn't one of the places promising sanitizing in front of customers, though I'm pretty sure the website says it is. The sheets were very dirty, and the bathroom floor and toilet were untidy, so I had to ask them to clean again. The staff didn't wear masks, even while serving food. Prepaid guests should be careful, since they seem to find ways to add charges. You don't need to tip the waiter, because they charge it themselves under GST and other taxes. I noticed and asked them to redo the math at checkout. They had added an extra 50 Rs. excluding taxes.

The rooms were big and reasonably priced, but for what you have to put up with, the price doesn't feel worthwhile. The approach and neighborhood were subpar, it was hard to reach, and the place wasn't clean. There was no restaurant, despite the amenities listing. They only served fixed courses, and the room had just the bare minimum. Staff weren't polite, and the receptionist didn't speak English, which made communication difficult. Reviews on sites like MMT may be good, but my experience was different.

Everything in the room worked fine, from the AC, TV and pipes to the heaters. The lighting and bed were good too. The free lunch was only just manageable, though. Without that, I would have given five stars.
