The place was not in a habitable state. There was water seeping into the rooms and visible water damage, and the toilets couldn't be used. At 7 in the morning, when I asked the receptionist about hot water, I was told there wasn't any and given a water warming rod instead. The sheets weren't clean, and nobody answered calls to reception. This hotel is also known as REDFOX Hotel, near US biometric, Chennai. The reality was completely different from the online photos, with a huge gap between them. Hygiene and maintenance were poor.

You have to ask again and again to get even basic service. The room was filthy, with no toiletries or towels, and a piece of chewing gum on the bed stand. The pictures are very misleading. The electricity kept going on and off, and water was leaking in the washroom.

The only thing that worked for me was the location, an 8-minute walk from the VAC. It didn't come close to making up for the conditions. I booked based on an OYO rating of 4.8, but the rating was grossly misleading. These rooms don't deserve even zero stars. The first room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, had filthy sheets and a bed much too small for two adults and a child. We asked to change rooms, but the next one was little better, with dirty sheets and no basic amenities. The TVs didn't work, and the fans had no regulators to control their speed. I'd paid for four days in advance on the app, but checked out the next day because it was unbearable. OYO customer service was rude and refused a refund even after I pointed out the false ratings. It was a frustrating waste of money, and I won't book an OYO property again. I'd strongly warn others away from this hotel.

The management needs to act so no one else has to deal with these conditions. I expect a full refund and a sincere apology. I'll also share my experience online to warn other potential guests.
