The pool needs proper cleaning and maintenance. Apart from that, I had a great two-night stay at Taj Coromandel, my first time at this Chennai property after usually staying at Taj Connemara. I was pleasantly surprised by the service. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy, housekeeping kept the rooms in good shape, and the lobby staff were polite and helpful. Loganathan even helped me get into the car. They arranged a complimentary foot spa, the gym was well maintained, and the trainer was nice. The buffet offered a wide spread, and the staff handling the window-side seating did a good job, though I don’t remember their names. I also received a nice Chennai coastal souvenir at checkout.

We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. The food was fabulous, especially at the Raintree restaurant, and I was so pleased to finally get the Appam I’d been looking forward to. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the front staff and housekeeping were lovely. The team made the place feel homely and our stay special. I’ll recommend it to my friends. KNK road is just a stone’s throw away, which makes this a great spot. This is probably the best of the three Taj hotels in central Chennai. There’s a lovely ambience, plenty of parking, and courteous staff. The rooms were bright and detailed, with nice touches like surround speakers, a great bathtub, and very good shower pressure. Breakfast could be improved, and the towels could use a refresh. Apart from that, it’s a brilliant place to stay.

I was glad we picked Taj Coromandel for our first Valentine’s Day after getting married, and I’d love to visit again. The rooms were comfortable and suitable for our short stay. The breakfast was lovely and delicious, with attentive, caring service, and checkout went smoothly. The gym was good, though the pool could have been better. Room service lines didn’t work as expected, but when we asked for a fruit platter at 12.30am, the team was ready to help. I’d asked Shristi to arrange room decorations as a surprise for my wife. When I called the day before check-in, she remembered my request and said there would be roses, towel decor, and a special Valentine’s cake. After a smooth check-in and a short wait, we got to the room. I was a little disappointed that the decorations weren’t there, but the two roses and Valentine’s cake were waiting for us, and we both really liked them. I would have liked more decor, but I appreciate Shristi’s help and effort in arranging the roses and cake.

The ambience, music, and seating were all top notch. I went for a meal and tried the Chinese and Cantonese food, which was delicious and felt healthy too. The Corn Mushroom soup, edmame dumplings, and water chestnut dumplings were light and soft. Tofu and broccoli in Sichuan Sauce was just as good, with a tantalizing taste and a soft, melting texture. Great food, a must visit.
