Taj Wellington Mews

The property is tastefully designed, well maintained, and has a relaxing feel. My room was spacious, clean, and thoughtfully laid out, making it convenient and comfortable. The food was consistently good, with balanced flavours and a satisfying variety. Hospitality was excellent throughout. The staff were courteous, cooperative, and always willing to help. Taj Wellington Mews is South Asia's first luxury serviced residence managed entirely by women, a commendable distinction. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Chennai for business or leisure.

For our wedding anniversary dinner, I’d shared feedback with the chefs during the visit, but I want to raise the issues again. The meal was a letdown, especially for a five-star establishment, and I hope management takes the comments seriously and improves both quality and variety. Not one dish stood out for taste. Most were bland, and as South Indians we found very few suitable choices. The selection was also limited compared with similar hotels we’ve visited. We’ve eaten at other Taj properties, where both the spread and flavors were much better, so this felt particularly underwhelming. The starters were disappointing, and we couldn’t enjoy any of them. The fish had a strong raw smell that made it unpleasant to eat. Dessert choices were sparse too. What was meant to be a special anniversary dinner at taj wellington mews buffet ended up extremely disappointing.

The breakfast platter was splendid, with a wide range of delicious dishes. Our room was very spacious and kept in pristine condition, and Anamika’s housekeeping team did a fantastic job looking after our comfort. From the smooth check-in to the thoughtful welcome gift, the care started as soon as we arrived. The whole team at Taj Wellington Mews gave us wonderful hospitality. We can’t wait to return.

The common areas are quite limited, so I wouldn’t pick this for a holiday focused on relaxing or spending time in the hotel facilities. For a business trip, though, I think that matters much less. From my European perspective, the hotel is very clean and well organized, with magnificent rooms and genuinely kind staff, especially in the restaurant and security.
