The Bharathapuzha river makes a lovely, peaceful backdrop for a function at The River Retreat, Cheruthuruthy. I attended an event there and found the atmosphere calm, with a graceful Kerala heritage feel. The open lawn can suit large gatherings, and the arrangements were well organized. The food was good, particularly the vegetarian options, and the service was attentive and courteous. Guests could also park and get to the venue easily. A good scenic choice for weddings or family celebrations around Palakkad and Thrissur.

I went to the hotel last week for a friend's wedding. The setting and atmosphere were superb for a special occasion, but dining let the visit down. The food wasn’t up to the mark, and the attitude of the food delivery staff needs to improve. The venue is beautiful, though the hospitality should match its atmosphere better.

The vibe here is good, and the restaurant seems to be where the attention goes. We came to stay after reading the reviews, but the rooms were awful and badly overdue for an upgrade. The old AC made a noise, and the pool was just there, with nobody to replenish the towels. Since the restaurant parking is right in front of the rooms, practically anyone can walk through to them. The restaurant gets so busy that its noise and chaos spill into the room area, which is meant to be quiet. Maybe this place was good a long time ago, but I wouldn’t recommend staying now.

We stopped at The River Retreat Heritage Ayurvedic Resort for a few hours and enjoyed the clean, quiet surroundings. The riverside scenery and views are beautiful, with plenty of greenery and a relaxing atmosphere for spending some peaceful time in nature. The property is well maintained and has a pleasant heritage feel. We ate there too. The food was average, nothing special, but fine for a short visit.

We spent two wonderful days at The River Retreat Resort, Cheruthuruthy, for my son's wedding. The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and the warm staff made the stay feel like home. Bharathapuzha river was a stunning backdrop, and we also enjoyed the tasty food at The Cafeteria. A lovely place for weddings, parties, or a relaxing break. Highly recommend!
