Satya Anantham Nature Retreat

At this sustainable resort, we had a fabulous stay in a peaceful, serene property close to Nandihills. There are individual designated areas, and in the morning you wake to birdsong. A beautiful getaway.

The staff were always polite and helpful, and the fresh, homely food made us feel comfortable. We especially liked Satya Anantham Resort’s eco-friendly digital detox idea. It gave us a chance to step away from busy digital life and reconnect with ourselves and nature. The well maintained property feels peaceful and positive, with activities and natural surroundings that made the visit more relaxing. A great choice for good food, quiet time, and a break from screens. I’d recommend it for a calm getaway.

I’d suggest this place to anyone wanting a quiet, no frills stay close to nature, but our night in the cottage had some real drawbacks. The room needs maintenance: two of its three electrical points didn’t work, ventilation was poor, and mosquitoes buzzed around at night. Good knight didn’t seem to help, and without a ceiling fan we had to put up with the loud pedestal fan. Facilities are basic, with no tea or coffee packets despite the kettle. There’s no running hot water, just a 7-9 window in the morning and evening, and it wasn’t available that evening because of an issue. On the plus side, the earthen feel gave the cottage a great ambience. The in house chef couple made excellent, tasty food, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Horse riding was fantastic, and we got to see Maya and Reshma in the stables. There’s no cell connectivity, which does help with a digital detox and time in nature.

We left despite having paid online in full for both rooms, and had to move to another hotel. We were there at 6 PM as two couples, after booking Satya Anantham Eco Retreat – Mystic Hotels through Agoda. The room was tiny and looked nothing like the online photos, which felt deceptive. When we asked about changing rooms or upgrading, the owner and reception staff were rude, egoistic, and unwilling to help. They showed no basic courtesy. There was no mobile network or Wi-Fi, and we couldn’t see the Nandi Hills view claimed in the listing. They even refused basic washroom access. The hostile treatment and promises that didn’t match what we found made this a horrible experience. The property relies on misleading photos and descriptions. Avoid it.
