Mulberry Shades Bengaluru Nandi Hills, A Tribute Portfolio Resort

The pool looked especially beautiful at sunset, with the hills in view and live music at dinner. Our room was spacious and well kept, and the property has pickleball and basketball courts. Mulberry Shades is in a peaceful, scenic spot near Nandi Hills, and we enjoyed the welcome at check-in. Sound healing, pottery, yoga, and high tea with folk music were nice touches. During the stay, though, the staff warmth we felt at arrival was missing. Our room view was disappointing, and the pool team began cleaning around 8 PM despite the stated 9 PM closing time. Dinner service dragged, and we had to remind staff about items before eventually collecting them ourselves. Toothbrushes weren’t ready either. It’s a promising property, but service and attention need to live up to the Marriott 5-star tag.

We felt genuinely looked after at Mulberry Shades, especially thanks to YASIR ANSARI and ANJALI JHA, who made the stay feel personal. They had even started checking in with us a day before we arrived, which was lovely. The setting is elegant, peaceful, and cozy, and we really enjoyed the food at the Asian restaurant on site. It was delicious and authentically prepared. The whole stay was warm and comfortable, and we’d love to come back.

The bowling room and basketball court sounded like good extras, but neither was usable when I stayed. There was nobody around to help me pay and play bowling, and no basketball was supplied for the court. I enjoyed the evening tea, though the coffee wasn’t good. The hotel feels spacious and has plenty of rooms, so it could work for families or groups. Mulberry Shades is a Marriott property in Bengaluru, and booking with Marriott Bonvoy points and an HDFC Marriott Bonvoy credit card made the stay decent value. Still, the service and luxury didn’t compare well with the neighboring JW Marriott. I was also disappointed that breakfast wasn’t complimentary, unlike my complimentary stay at JW Marriott last year, which included it. It was an okay visit, but with these gaps in service and amenities I probably won’t book here again.

Yasir was a big help during my stay. He also helped sort out complimentary breakfast with my Marriott points booking, which otherwise might have been tricky. The spa has unusual therapies I haven’t found in Bengaluru city. It’s a bit expensive, but worth trying for the experience. The food was delicious and full of flavor. Dining by the pool is a lovely setup, though it’s a shared area and not very private. On weekends, the stay includes Sound Therapy, High Tea, and Yoga. There’s also Pickleball, Basketball, and Football for younger guests and anyone who likes to stay active. Mulberry Shades has striking architecture and views of Nandi Hills from the heart of the resort. It’s a scenic place to eat, relax, drink, or celebrate, and made for a refreshing weekend break.
