Hours of searching after check-in left us scrambling for emergency lodging miles away, and the stress nearly wrecked our holiday. We arrived on December 26 after a long trip to find that the hotel had cancelled our reservation, with no warning or valid explanation. Every other place nearby was full for Christmas, and the staff showed no empathy or help finding another room. We'd booked and paid in full months earlier precisely because it was such a busy time. Cancelling a prepaid booking at the door was reckless, especially during a major holiday. I wouldn't rely on this hotel to honor a confirmed reservation when you need it most.

I paid the full amount ahead of time through a reputable booking website, but the property still refused to let me check in. They don't seem to honor online reservations, and their phone number isn't listed on Google either.

The rooms are decent for the budget, and they provide mineral water, soap, and a towel at check-in. There's also a generator for power and the Wi-Fi works properly. Shree Vaidehi Bhawan is about a 300-meter walk from the Mandakini River. The staff were polite and very cooperative.

There seems to be some issue between vaidehi Bhawan and MMT. Be careful booking, or you might arrive and end up without a place to stay.
