Oyo 4305 Yang's Inn

Only rooms 305 and 306 on the third floor looked as good as the ones shown on Oyo's site. The rest of our experience was poor: hospitality and room service were bad, and both breakfast and dinner were horrible, along with the kitchen and its staff. The hotel is a long way from Mall Road, up a steep hill, and the area didn't feel safe after 9 at night.

The rooms are spacious, and friendly staff are a plus. Rooms 306 and 101 have views. Food quality could be better, though, and there isn't a nearby market, so you may feel there are fewer options once you get back to the hotel. It's on Linged road, opposite the beautiful Market, and you'll need a shared taxi to reach places such as Mall road. Before a trip to places like gangtok or Siliguri, check hotel and cab or taxi prices carefully. If the hotel manager arranges local sightseeing, they may take a brokerage by indirectly adding it to the amount collected from the driver, so you might not notice. I suggest contacting at least 3-4 people beforehand to compare prices.

We stayed just after the renovation in December 2018, and had a great experience with the hotel, staff, and owner. The rooms were spacious and clean, and everyone treated us wonderfully. From a room on the 2ND floor or the open terrace, you might be lucky enough to see kanchendzonga and all of Darjeeling.

The owner told me to “adjust kar lo” when I raised the issue of paying INR 3K. The place is highly overpriced, with poor amenities and stale food. OYO, on the other hand, regularly offers top-class Premium properties for around 2.5k.
