Old British House

We spent 3 nights in the garden view cottage with a friend, and it gave us the quiet break from city life we needed. It was cozy and peaceful, with plenty of room for both of us. Having coffee with that garden view in the morning was lovely. Breakfast was good too, we tried the bread omelette one day and poha the next, and both hit the spot. It was so quiet, with no traffic or crowds. We passed hours sitting outside, talking and reading. The cottage felt tucked away from everything, a little retreat where we could relax. I'd definitely return when I need to get away from the city again. Sometimes a place just feels right without trying too hard.

The garden view was a nice bonus, and the cottage stayed quiet and private. I was here for two work nights with a friend, and the comfortable double bed meant we both slept well. We got plenty done, too. I’d stay again if work brings us back to the area.

The room had what I needed and felt cozy, with that “Indian Zen” feel. The owners were lovely to talk with. Old British House is set back on a residential street a couple hundred metres from the road, north of “downtown” Dehradun, so it’s peaceful and away from the bustle. Thanks to everyone who runs OBH for the hospitality. I’ll be back next time I need to relax and decompress.

The poha and bread omelette made for a solid breakfast. I was staying in the glass room for three nights on a work trip with coworkers, and it turned out to be a relaxing place even while we were on the clock. The staff were helpful, and the location made it easy to get around. Definitely worth it.
