Oyo 30642 Hotel Sumanglam

Food was available at a genuinely reasonable price, and for a budget range the facilities at Hotel Arco Palace stood out to me. I’ve traveled for a long time and haven’t found another hotel with all these amenities. My memorable stay was at Hotel Sumangalam, where the staff impressed me most. Mr. Manish Agarwal at reception has helped me with early bookings and consistently given service and hospitality beyond what I expected. The team’s friendly, polite manner made the stay more comfortable. Dedicated, cooperative staff like that are rare these days.

The room had a strong unpleasant smell, and termites were clearly visible. They had damaged the under-sink cabinet so badly that its door had rotted and fallen off. There was seepage across the walls, and the bathroom was dirty and unhygienic. The room itself was dirty and poorly maintained. There was no lift, which made getting around difficult, and no toilet paper or handwash in the bathroom. Tea and milk sachets were supplied, but there was no electric kettle to heat water. The property fell far short on cleanliness, maintenance, and guest comfort. My stay was extremely disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend it or stay here again.

The food was overpriced and completely tasteless, nowhere near worth the money. At ₹2,000, I expected a much more comfortable and clean stay. I could have booked somewhere offline for around ₹1,000 and had a better room. Check-in went smoothly, but the rooms were unhygienic: the pillows felt sticky, and after checking 3 rooms, I found the same condition in each. There was no geyser either. When I brought that up, the receptionist replied, “Sir, you booked a deluxe room.” Does that mean a deluxe room should be dirty? I’d expect a better experience than a standard room, with improved interiors, cleanliness, comfort, and amenities. This hotel didn’t manage even the basics of cleanliness or hospitality, and I can’t recommend it for a comfortable, hygienic stay.

The price was within budget for rooms this spacious. Staff were good, and the location near dehradun isbt was very convenient. The rooms were big and tidy, and the toilets and bathroom were clean, though they could use a little freshening up. There was no elevator, which could be difficult for older people.
