OYO 9963 Hotel Raja Palace

I was there for two days, and the room change on the second day brought another problem: at midnight I discovered the AC remote was missing. I called reception at 2:00 AM and nobody answered. Maybe they had gone to sleep, but they should still have been responsible for that. On the first day, I hadn't been given the Wi-Fi password at check-in, the AC wasn't cooling, and the bathroom in that room was small with no ventilation window. It seemed like a cheaper extra room they used when they were busy.

Hotel Raja Palace is an easy walk from Dehradun Railway Station. My room was clean, the washroom was in good shape, and the staff were friendly. The price was reasonable, and booking on the OYO app got me a nice discount. I'd recommend it.

The staff were good, and getting there is easy. It's on Tyagi Road in a side lane, within walking distance of dehradun railway station. Cleanliness in the rooms could be better, though, and room service was very poor. They need to improve both the service and the cleaning.

We booked through booking.com, but when we got to the hotel the manager simply denied that online booking. Maybe they sold our reserved room to someone for more money, though I can't say for sure. We ended up searching for another hotel on the streets of Deharadun at 11PM with our children. The worst experience.
