Riverstone Cottages

We wanted somewhere pet friendly for New Year's, so we booked three rooms and stayed two nights. My dog loved the river, and the morning scenery was beautiful. The staff were the nicest and really accommodating. The only food I tried was at the South Indian breakfast buffet, where the idli was lovely. The rooms were nice, but Room 105 seemed very dirty. I found the rooms upstairs, indus and tigris, more spacious than Room 105. They should replace the old water sprays and shower heads. There isn't much to do nearby, and it's 30 minutes from the city, which worked perfectly for us since we mostly just went to bed rot.

The riverside setting is nice and the service was good, but the food quality and hygiene are a serious concern. The Tandoori Chicken was the worst we've ever eaten, and each of us could barely finish one piece. All three of us woke the next morning with significant stomach upsets. Check the bill closely before paying too. We found extra charges on our final invoice. It may not happen to everyone, but make sure you're not being billed for things you didn't receive.

I couldn't sleep because I was afraid something might get in through the large hole in the main gate, big enough for a snake, rat or cat. Housekeeping was poor too: the towels had blood stains and the body wash dispenser didn't work. The TV in the room was out of order, and getting anything sorted meant calling reception again and again. The resort left us with a very unpleasant stay. I definitely wouldn't recommend a property that takes its guests for granted.

Loved the place, with nature, relaxation and a soothing river right beside it. The evenings are lovely for drinks and dining outdoors.
