You can order lunch or dinner to your room, and the food arrives in 15-20 minutes, still hot and fresh. Our sandwich and fries were surprisingly crisp. Breakfast is a buffet in the restaurant, with a good range of standard options that taste great too. The hotel sits in the middle of the market, so you can enjoy the local area. Inside, it’s quiet, cozy and warm, with an old Dehradun feel that brought back some nostalgia. Sarovar keeps up its standards in the rooms and ambience. We chose a standard room, which was nice and cozy, with plenty of space for luggage. They also don’t charge as heavily as other brands in the same category. There were a couple of issues: the AC kept making the room warm despite changing the temperature, and the geyser took longer than expected. After the first bath we were told the water would be warm again in 5-7 minutes, but after 10-15 minutes there wasn’t much difference.

My recent stay was frustrating. The rooms were poorly maintained, the bathroom was clogged, the food was overpriced, and staff didn’t take my requests seriously. No one came to help with my luggage. I paid 450rs for a paneer paratha that, honestly, had no more than 5gms of paneer. The room advertised as having a balcony actually had a gully instead. I complained and a manager called, listened, said "Accha" and hung up. It seemed customer complaints didn’t bother them much. Management saves money by not hiring enough staff, and guests end up suffering. Not cool. If you're visiting Dehradun, I suggest Madhuban hotel right opposite. At least they value "Guests" there.

The front office staff were especially helpful, and everyone was very polite and good. Our room was spacious and clean, and we had a comfortable stay. Overall, we spent a good time here.
