SPOT ON 68390 Sunrise Homestay

Karan’s service was excellent, and I had no complaints about how he treated me. The homestay was a good deal at this price, but it was missing some basic things, especially reliable hot water in the bathroom. Karan found a way to get me hot water, though it was still too erratic to count on. I would have given all five stars if that had been fixed, or hadn’t been an issue in the first place.

There was no hot water during winter, no TV, no way to contact reception, and the room walls weren’t clean. They also charged extra without giving a bill. Basic facilities matter, so this was a very bad experience and not a good place to stay.

The staff were humble, and the meals were delicious at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From the room window, you get beautiful views. Tourist spots near this property include Lal tibba, George Everest, cloud end, and company garden. A great hotel or homestay for this price range.

They refused to let us check in, despite my OYO booking for four nights, 25May-28May, costing 5200. They said they don’t accept OYO bookings and told us to cancel. I called OYO customer care to report the refusal; they tried to reach the owner, but his phone was off. Credit to the OYO team, they initiated a refund within an hour. If you’re considering this place because you trust OYO, skip it, it seemed a bit fishy. The location was bad, and later I was glad I hadn’t stayed: it was overpriced, and you could hear people on the first floor from the ground floor. Rooms in that location can be found for around 800-1000rs/Night. It felt like a jhuggi location. I found a guest house with a great view in a better location beside the Clock Tower for just 800rs/Night. Skip this hotel if you want to enjoy your trip.
