I was traveling solo with the Gate 1 tour group, and the staff treated me wonderfully from arrival through checkout. My room was spotless and spacious, with a lovely bathroom and plenty of supplies in case you'd forgotten something. After long days out, it was nice to relax with Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+ on the TV. Breakfast had lots of choices, and even as a picky eater I was happy with the made-to-order eggs. I was extremely pleased with the stay and would recommend the hotel for its comfort, service, and welcoming feel.

Shops and an ATM are close by, and the breakfast buffet has choices for everyone. The staff were wonderful, and my room, though a little worn, was comfortable. Light sleepers may want earplugs: the doors are very heavy, and on the stone floors they slam loudly whenever someone leaves a room.

I'm writing from Room #702 on the final day of a three-night stay, from 7th-10th October 2025. I'm honestly relieved to be leaving. The hotel gives an old-fashioned impression at first, but the property feels worn out and outdated, more neglected than charming. Nehru Place is a busy electronics market, so the honking, traffic, and city noise carried into my room day and night. Getting sleep was a struggle. On arrival I was first assigned a room on the 4th floor, where the whole floor smelled overpoweringly of stale cigarette smoke. I'd specifically asked for a non-smoking room and had been told that was what I had. I told the front desk I'd cancel the whole stay unless they moved me right away, and only then was I shifted to the 7th floor. Breakfast brought the worst moment. I asked for plain black coffee and got it in a filthy mug, with sticky residue inside and out and bits of unknown debris floating in the drink. I showed the staff, expecting some urgency or concern. They just said, "Sorry, let me get you another coffee." There was no meaningful apology, and the mug looked like an obvious health hazard. For what they charge, this place is a joke. The service felt indifferent, hygiene was appalling, and the atmosphere wasn't close to what I'd expect from a five-star stay. Delhi has much cleaner, quieter, more professional hotels. I left disappointed and baffled that this property calls itself luxury.

The Christmas decorations are lovely right now, and the staff are helpful and polite. The Pan-Asian food is a favourite, as are the Indian dishes at Singh Sahab. I especially enjoyed the golden fried prawns, kung-pao chicken, chicken Biryani, galauti kebabs, and dry fruit naan (peshawari naan), plus plenty more. Everything was delicious.

The location is great, but the hotel itself feels pretty average. It aims for world-class standards and doesn't quite get there. Management should work with Hyatt Taj ITC and similar hotels to bring in better processes.
