Wongdhen House

I’ve been staying at Wongdhen house for more than 20 years, and I’m an American Buddhist nun. I was there March 30, 31, and April 1, 2026, and was very sad to find the place in such a shambles. It needs a new general manager. I was uncomfortable, and the elevator trapped me for seven minutes without moving or responding to the buttons. The hotel is trying to renovate while staying open, but the hallways are crowded with old, dirty air conditioning units. They still expect guests to pay big prices, even though the building is showing wear and tear. Staff weren’t cleaning the rooms or building very well, and food dishes were left in the hallway. The front desk agents should look well-groomed, wear nice clothes, and greet guests happily. The Signature Cafe needs new menu ideas and better food. It seems geared toward young people, and there should be other options on the menu. Breakfast is still good, and Shereen at the front desk is kind and patient. I commend her.

Our flights were cancelled, so although we were meant to check out earlier, the staff kindly let us extend our stay. My friends and I had spent a few pleasant days at Wongdhen House, where the rooms were clean and well maintained with good facilities. The staff were especially nice, calm, composed, and polite. The hosts were kind, attentive, and always ready to help, and Wongdhen House was quiet and welcoming. It’s conveniently located near places to visit while still feeling calm. I found the rooms comfortable, clean, and well maintained, with a home-away-from-home feel. A pleasant stay with great hospitality, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a friendly, comfortable place.

For the past few decades, Wongdhen has consistently kept up its service standards. It’s been one of my top choices whenever I’m in Delhi.
