A convenient place to stay in dharamshala, right along the road with parking available, so there’s no need to go searching for it. The property is really nice, the rooms are clean, and prices are reasonable. Service was good and the staff polite.

The balcony looks out over the whole mountain range, and the rooms are spacious. Service was good too, and the food tasted good, though it’s a bit expensive. There’s no Wi-Fi, but mobile signal is strong, so Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone users can get good internet speeds. I’m not sure about other networks. There’s no AC, but you won’t need one in any weather. Bhagsu waterfall and the main square are both about a 1.5 km walk away. We enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast that’s included comes from a restaurant down the road, and you can’t get it before 8:45 am when they open. There isn’t a dining area for guests, and the delivered meal doesn’t even include eggs. Early in the morning, the water ran out. We couldn’t call reception about it because their phone is switched off from 11 pm to 6 am. The location near the Bhagsunath parking is convenient, but the hotel looks nothing like its photos. During our stay the internet never worked, the sheets were dirty, and the bathroom stayed wet because there was no exhaust fan. The staff tried to help, though the owners seem not to pay them enough to overcome the hotel’s serious underlying problems. I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions.

I arrived late at night for a solo three-day trip to Bhagsu and booked Rosewood on the spot. The next evening, on the way to Dharamshala, my car slid off a road under construction after Google Maps sent me the wrong way. Local people helped me get back to the hotel and made sure the car was secure until morning. When I told the staff at Rosewood what happened, they contacted the owner, Kuldeep, who asked about the accident and said he would help. Around 7 the next morning, he called me and went with me to the site to see what needed doing. He made several calls to find a JCB to pull the car out, and after a few failed attempts he found one. He came back with it and the hotel manager, Lucky, and helped me through a really difficult situation. Thanks to Kuldeep, Lucky, and the people of Bhagsu. I’ll definitely stay at Rosewood next time I visit Mcleodganj.
