Regenta Resort, Exotica Dharamshala on Hilltop

Breakfast could use a wider selection, especially for international travelers. Still, I came away very positive about Regenta Resort Exotica Dharamshala. The hilltop setting was quiet and scenic, away from the city bustle, and the spacious, clean room was a comfortable place to rest after a long journey. The team were warm, attentive, and professional from arrival to departure, and they were always willing to help. Meals were enjoyable, with a range of well-prepared options and thoughtful service. The Chef really outdid himself with the manchow soup, veg fried rice, and fish & chips. As a professional food, destination, and hotel reviewer, my Google Maps contributions have reached nearly 2.2 million viewers worldwide. The mountain and city views from our room were beautiful, with the snow-covered peaks especially lovely. Nareshji at reception and the rest of his team were the best. We loved our stay and will definitely come back to this picture-perfect hotel above Dharmasala.

The grilled Basha was very tasty, and the food was reasonably priced. Abhi and Shivam were helpful, and travel support was available from the courteous staff. We stayed in an independent cottage with central heating and cooling, a geyser, and tea-making facilities. There was an outdoor sitting spot by the room, with clear mountain views from both the dining and recreation rooms. The gym and indoor games room share a space, though the gym equipment needs maintenance and improvement.

That sunrise from the room was beautiful, and the staff were good. The hotel helped arrange local cabs, and the location worked well. The rooms were okay but small, especially the bathroom. We booked for three adults, yet basics like slippers weren't properly supplied, and the extra-bed mattress was too hard. Food was average, with very few options. Having to pay for a bonfire in peak winter was disappointing. Room rates were high at ₹8k, then went up to 10k during cricket match time even though many rooms were vacant. The stay was good overall, but the value for money could be better.
