Hotel Beach View

I stayed for two days with my family. The breakfast was delicious, service was prompt, and the other staff members were incredibly helpful and polite. Overall, we had a good stay. The front desk executives made check-in and checkout unpleasant. The price wasn’t transparent: they quoted one total when we arrived, then presented an inflated bill at checkout. I eventually paid the original agreed amount, but their behavior was unprofessional and quite harassing. It ruined the mood as we were leaving. I hope management looks into it, because the rest of the team is doing a great job.

The sea view is the main reason to stay here, and it explains why the rent is higher than similar hotels. From front-facing rooms you can see the sea all the time, side rooms have a lovely view, and back-facing rooms offer a partial glimpse from the balcony. Shops nearby make it easy to find food or do some shopping. There’s also a liquor shop and bar-cum-restaurant in the hotel. We enjoyed our stay and found it pleasant, but some things could be better. Restaurant room service was quick and polite. The food, though, wasn’t satisfactory for the high prices. A plain tarka costs ₹150 here, while a good restaurant outside offers egg tarka for ₹100 with far better quality. The complimentary breakfast also had less variety and poorer quality than nearby hotels. We booked four rooms two months ahead, but got only three at check-in and waited about half an hour for the fourth. At checkout they promptly reminded us when we were five minutes late, at 9:05 a.m. No one cleaned the rooms or toilets during our two days. Purified Aquaguard water wasn’t brought to the room unless requested, and credit cards aren’t accepted.

The hotel is in the first row by the sea beach, just 5 second from Digha. Staff behaved very well, and the cleaning staff properly cleared the room every morning. Good communication, too.

The staff were cooperative and behaved excellently throughout. I’ve visited Old Digha many times, but this was my first stay at New Digha Beach View Hotel. Awesome experience.
