Zostel Kodaikanal - Hostel

The café serves decent food at reasonable prices, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful. Zostel Kodaikanal has clean dorms, cozy common areas, and lovely hill views. Evenings can be lively, with games, conversation, and occasional bonfires, so it's easy to meet other travelers. It's a good value choice for budget travelers and solo backpackers who like hostel life and a laid-back, social stay. The location is a little outside the main town, so plan ahead for getting around.

The common area was pleasant, the Wi-Fi was very good with a router in each room, and the toilets were clean. The food was okay, nothing bad. There aren't shops nearby, and outside food isn't allowed. It's quite far from the bus stand, and a taxi from there costs 300 rupees. Get the driver's number if you need a ride back or want to go sightseeing locally. One useful tip: the restaurant at benzz park hotel, 300 m away, was very good, and they let non-guests eat there.

The setting around Zostel Kodaikanal is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature, and the rooms were cozy, clean, and well kept. I had a really comfortable, relaxing stay. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, always smiling and happy to help. Every meal was delicious, like home cooking, and full of flavor. The cooks Alton, Rishu, Minu and Raja were amazing. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kodaikanal. 🌿✨

It's a cozy Zostel, and I had a really nice time as part of a group. Solo travelers especially get a chance to meet new people. The only downside was being a little far from the main road, though that makes sense for the view. Getting there means walking 15 minutes to the main road or booking a cab every day.
