The staff and reception were polite, responsive, and supportive, which I appreciated. Beyond that, my stay at Laimer Hotel was average and felt poor value for the facilities. Getting out initially meant going through the basement parking, which is poorly laid out with many columns and makes driving in or out difficult. I’d booked a Lulu-facing room, but it was useless for the view: the balcony wasn’t practical, and the glass couldn’t be opened because of mosquitoes and heavy dust. There was no Wi-Fi in those rooms, as reception had told me beforehand. Housekeeping was disappointing too. There was no tissue paper, face towel, or room chappals/slippers. For my 2-night stay, I got two bath towels on the first day but only one on the second, which was unacceptable. Coffee stirring sticks were left openly in the tray and the electric kettle was dusty, pointing to poor cleaning and a lack of housekeeping supervision.

The whole check-in process was stressful and badly managed. We had pre-booked and paid extra for early check-in since standard check-in was at 12 PM, but on arrival we were told no rooms were available. After we argued, staff asked us to wait 30 minutes, then suddenly said they were cancelling our room. We booked another hotel right away and requested early check-in there. When we asked this hotel for a refund, they suddenly “found” a room and let us check in. The room was decent and the balcony view was good, but the TV didn’t work. One reception staff member acted as if he owned the hotel and was very unprofessional.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the food was good. My room was clean and well kept, so I had a lovely stay. I’d happily recommend it.

This was my second stay, and I’d gladly come back. The place has a homely feel, with clean, spacious rooms and young staff who manage everything professionally, from reception to the restaurants. It’s opposite Lulu, close to the metro, and not far from the airport, which makes getting around convenient. I recommend it to anyone visiting kochi.
