The Renai Cochin

The event at The Colosseum auditorium was flawlessly organized, and our guests loved the Sadhya prepared by the hotel Chef, with many offering heartfelt compliments. We stayed at The Renai, Palarivattom for our son's engagement on 25th December, and the facilities were excellent, everything was neat, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout. Most of all, we appreciated their honesty: after we accidentally left some gold ornaments in our bedroom, the staff informed management and made sure they were safely returned. Thanks especially to Mr. V Pratheesh for arranging enough rooms for our guests, and to Mr. Hari, the Manager, who regularly checked that all was going smoothly and that we were comfortable. From the stay to the event, it was an exceptional experience. We'd highly recommend the hotel for comfort, professionalism, honesty, and well-organized special occasions.

After a long time away, I came back with my whole family for the lunch buffet. The food still seemed good value, as I remembered, but the younger waiters appeared inexperienced. The senior staff also felt less guest friendly and more businesslike than before. With so many other options in a city like Kochi, this could push people toward other places. Maybe the staff need better orientation.

I took my parents to Pavilion Restaurant - The Renai Cochin on 26-01-2026, since they had a free dining scheme for those aged 75 and over. My meal came to Rs 893/- with a 15% discount. There was a wide selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, and the sweets section had lots of choices. The dragon chicken was tasty, and meen mulakittatu was another delicacy. Kerala Rice, Kappa, fish pickle, chicken salad, and seafood salad were all excellent. Breads were available on request rather than laid out at the buffet. We stayed two days in an Executive Club Room. It was comfortable, though a bit compact, and the hotel's own food was exceptional. We ordered both lunch and dinner through room service and enjoyed the meals each time. The complimentary breakfast, though, had a rather limited selection.
