OYO 4802 Cochin City residency

Room 204 had a toilet that wobbled so much I couldn’t even use it properly. I’d booked the room for one night hoping to sleep before catching my train, but the bed creaked and groaned loudly whenever I moved, all night. I barely slept. Awful room and bed.

The complimentary breakfast left all of us with food poisoning, and we threw up everything we’d eaten. We’d arrived late at night with colleagues and had to spend half an hour waking the receptionist, who seemed drunk. There was no service at all. I’d rather sleep at the bus station. Worst experience I’ve ever had, and zero stars if that were an option.

The staff were cooperative, but the room was dusty and shabby, and the food was awful. An open sewage canal runs behind the room. OYO rooms seem to have given this place an excellent rating through fabricated reviews. Avoid it if you want a pleasant stay.

The bathroom was okay, but cleanliness was disappointing, and the bed was broken. The mattress was so bad you’d be better off booking an appointment with an orthopedist for your back. Staff service was a letdown too, with attempts to get extra payment however they could, and they weren’t customer friendly like other OYOs. Horrible, pathetic, and worst for a family. Only consider it if there’s no other choice, or it’s the last place left.
